Haviera started with a simple frustration: the lighting we wanted cost more than the room it was going in.
Walk into a design showroom and an alabaster pendant is $2,400. A bentwood floor lamp is $1,900. The same shapes, the same materials, the same factories, with four layers of markup stacked on top. Meanwhile the affordable option is a chrome fixture that looks exactly like what it is.
We thought there was room in between. So we went straight to the workshops that make these pieces and brought them over ourselves.
What we do differently
We buy directly from the manufacturers in Asia who produce for the design trade, and we ship straight to you. No showroom, no distributor, no local warehouse holding stock at your expense. That is the whole reason a hand-finished alabaster sconce here is $235 rather than $900.
We choose pieces the way you would choose them for your own house. Solid materials: travertine, alabaster, marble, oak, walnut, linen, rice paper and hand-blown glass. Shapes that still look right when the lamp is switched off, which is most of the time. And proportions that suit a real room rather than a photography set.
What we will not do
We will not pretend your order ships tomorrow. It does not. Our pieces are produced and sent from our manufacturing partners in Asia, and standard delivery takes about four to six weeks. Expedited air freight takes one to three weeks. That wait is the trade-off that makes the price possible, and we would rather you know it before you buy than after.
We will not invent a crossed-out price to make a discount look bigger, and we will not run a countdown timer to rush you into a decision about something you will live with for years.
And we will not tell you a piece is right for your room when we think it is not. If you send us your measurements, we will tell you honestly if it is too big, too small, or hangs at the wrong height.
Standing behind it
Sixty days to return anything unused and uninstalled. That is twice what most stores offer, because lighting is genuinely hard to judge on a screen.
Free standard delivery on every order, with no minimum. On standard delivery to the United States we pay the customs duties and import taxes ourselves, so the price at checkout is the price you pay and nothing is collected at your door.
If something arrives damaged, incorrect, or not as described, we cover it entirely: the return, the replacement parts, or a full refund. That is on us, not on you.
One thing to be straight about: for a change of mind, return shipping is yours, and on a large fixture going back overseas that can run to $80 to $200 or more. It is the honest downside of buying direct. Ask us first and we will help you get it right the first time.
